TOUCH
Somatic Touch & Embodied Healing
The body often holds a story with that our mind had no conscious awareness of the importance of it's existence.
Somatic touch is a collaborative process where a healing dialogue is created and the client participates in a body psychotherapy process.
My work with touch is grounded in two deeply complementary approaches:
NeuroAffective Touch® with Dr. Aline LaPierre and Touch Skills for Trauma Therapists with Kathy Kain.
These gentle, attuned methods support nervous system regulation, safety, and emotional repair, particularly in the context of early trauma, developmental wounding, or chronic disconnection from the body.
Touch, when offered with consent, presence, and deep listening, can reach places that words alone often cannot. It offers a path toward reconnection, restoring a sense of wholeness, safety, and agency in the body.
In a typical session, you remain fully clothed and are gently guided to bring awareness to sensations, emotions, and subtle shifts in your internal landscape. Through titrated mindful contact, we explore your body’s responses and allow space for whatever arises, without pressure or expectation.
NeuroAffective Touch® blends somatic psychology with touch to support parts of the self formed before verbal memory. This work fosters emotional development, right-brain integration, and the repair of relational wounding.
Touch Skills for Trauma Therapists provides a grounded understanding of the body’s physiology. It supports the journey of stored survival responses, helping to restore a felt sense of balance, safety, completion and resilience.
Over time, this work gently expands your capacity to stay present with both pleasurable and uncomfortable sensations. Many clients discover a growing ability to breathe more freely, speak more authentically, move with greater ease, know what they require in relationships more deeply and feel more at home in their bodies.
Whether you're working with developmental trauma, nervous system dysregulation, or simply longing for more embodied presence, Somatic Touch offers a compassionate space for healing and self-discovery.
Touch is never imposed, it is always invited, collaborative, and guided by your own pace, preferences, and inner knowing
With mindful awareness, the body taps into it's own wisdom opening new stories, meaning making, pathways and possibilities.
